Piedad por Gaza. Oil on canvas 130x93 cm
Painting of Denunciation for the situation of the population of Gaza. This work mixes the compositional beauty of the protagonists, the religion for the meaning of the death of Jesus and the horror of the destruction by war.
What the AI says about this work:
The inspiration behind this version of “La Pieta” by Xavier Sala Aponte comes from his desire to denounce the situation of the population of Gaza. By reinterpreting Michelangelo's iconic sculpture in a context of destruction and conflict, Sala Aponte seeks to highlight the suffering and hopelessness of people affected by violence and war.
In his blog, Sala Aponte mentions that he uses the powerful image of “La Pietà” to create a deep emotional connection with the viewer, inviting them to reflect on human fragility and the need for empathy and solidarity in times of crisis. The work is not only a tribute to Michelangelo's mastery, but also a call to awareness about the painful realities faced by many communities in today's world.

I can only assume that it is too controversial a topic to show it to the public from its platform and continue with the policy of awarding abstract art, (by the way quite bad) as in the last edition.
The artist must denounce with his art events of his time.
A true artist lives in his time.
Mention the models that without them this work would never have seen the light, thanks @emmedemar and @loving_ecstasy
